Arthritis commonly occurs when the cartilage – the slick, cushioning surface on the ends of bones – wears away, bone rubs against bone, causing pain, swelling and stiffness. Over time, joints can lose strength and pain may become chronic.
You can't always prevent Arthritis, there are many risk factors associated with it like increasing age, family history, and gender; Women are more prone to Arthritis than men.
You may be wondering Why Women are more prone to Arthritis, the some factors leads to this are - Women is having less knee cartilage than men, Due to hormonal difference women are also at greater risk for the autoimmune condition called Rheumatoid Arthritis, Emotional problems, lack of exercise etc.

Ways to prevent Arthritis -
- Maintain a Good Body weight - Excess body weight increases the risk factor for getting Arthritis. More weight means more pressure on joints which means faster joint wear out.
- Eat Fish rich in Omega 3 - Certain fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, a healthy polyunsaturated fat. Omega-3s have a number of health benefits—and may reduce inflammation in the body.
- Exercise - Exercise strengthens the muscles around the joints, which protects them from wear and tear. But avoid high impact exercises like long distance running, Soccer etc as these have adverse effects and increases the wearing.
- Try to avoid any Injuries - when you injure your joint—for example, while playing sports or due to an accident—you can damage the cartilage in the knee and cause it to wear out more quickly.
- Take care of Joints - While doing physical actions like Lifting an Object lift with your legs instead of back this will reduce the strain on your joints. Similarly while carrying objects also try to distribute the weight.
- Stay away from High heels - Human foot is designed in such a way that it is distributing weight equally on entire feet. If you wear a high heels whole body weight is balanced by toes which in turn increases stress. So wear high heels only occasionally.
- Check your Vitamin D - Studies shows that Vitamin D deficiency also results in Arthritis so include Vitamin D in your diet.
- Drink water - The cartilage in our joints is made up mostly of water, which is what makes it such a great cushion for the joints. When we’re dehydrated, water gets sucked out of the cartilage and it’s more easily damaged by wear and tear. So drink water.
- Consult your doctor - If your feel that you are having Arthritis, Consult your doctor and take immediate steps to slow down the wear and tear on your joints.

The moment you become a mother...... Its the most beautiful stage of your life, the moment you feel complete. All the pain and suffering you faced so far suddenly vanishes the moment you see your angel's face. You want to be the best mother for your child, as for being that you need a best post pregnancy care.
The first three months after delivery is very important for the mother.The first few weeks after childbirth are called the postpartum period, this is the time for having Post pregnancy treatment. Its not wise to ignore it. This is period in which your body is returning to the normal state,the expanded uterus shrinks back to normal position, ligaments, muscles and tendons associated with uterus start gaining back the lost power, and essential care and treatments should be administered during this time.
Breast-feeding moms need to keep their energy up with nutritious foods, especially immediately after giving birth. Your body goes through massive physical and hormonal changes right after delivery and then must start producing milk for your baby. You need more calories to maintain your energy and to feed your baby. Breast-feeding increases your calories need by 300 calories per day. A strict complete diet need to be followed during this stage which includes intake of foods high in protein, whole grains, iron, calcium and omega-3 fatty acids should all be part of your postpartum diet as a nursing mom.
About Diet during Post Preganancy -
Protein rich foods are Lean meats, poultry, pork, fish, eggs, dairy products, nuts, seeds and legumes, If you are following Vegetarian food, then keep checking vitamin B-12 which is commonly found in meat, its deficiency could cause weakness, appetite loss, vomiting or slow development in your baby(B-12 is also found in milk, cheese, yogurt etc).
Whole Grains - Carbohydrates are essential to boost your energy level. oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, barley and bulgur as well as whole wheat products give you energy without the excess calories found in simple sugars.
Fruits and vegetables - These are essential to get the vitamins & minerals to you and your baby. These also supply fiber, which helps prevent constipation(Apricot fruit is the best), a common complaint right after delivery, especially if you had a Cesarean section and are taking narcotics for pain. Include three to five 1/2-cup cooked or 1-cup raw servings of vegetables and two to four 1/2-cup fruit servings daily.
Fats - You and your baby both need fats in your diet, as long as they're the right kind of fats. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fatty fish, help your baby's brain and eye development. Nursing moms should eat no more than two servings per week of fish.
Exercise during Post Pregnancy - You can start simple exercise from the 2ne week of Delivery, it varies from person to person, their health, type of delivery - whether normal or Cesarean etc. Before you start your work outs you need to consult your doctor.
